Yap Siu Ting is the “Father of Tai Chi Chuan” in Malaysia. He travelled frequently between Taiwan, Malaysia and Bangkok. His father was the head of the Fukien martial arts association and was well-regarded for his Hung Gar.

Yap Siu-Ting introduced Huang Sheng-Shyan to Cheng Man Ching. When Huang was tested by Chock in Penang he called Yap to sort it out. Chock and Lu tong Bao became his students after testing him out, they then became the top fighters in Malaysia and Huang moved to Saba. Yap was made to leave Malaysia and went back to Taiwan and would teach from Thailand.
