<title>Tai Chi Timeline</title>

This page contains a list of important and noteworthy events in the history of Tai Chi and Chinese Martial Arts in general.

• 1374 – Chen Bu establishes Chen Village at the site of old Chang Yang Cun (Sunshine Village).
• 1900 – Chen Yan-Xi (Chen Fa-Ke's father) moves to Shandong to teach martial arts to the family of Yuan Shi-kai.
• 1926 – Social degeneration and banditry became a crisis in Henan. In that same year a heretical organization and bandit gang called the Red Spear Club began to attack and capture various towns in the northern and central regions of Henan. By the middle of the year the Wenxian district was in danger of falling to the new movement.
• 1928 – Chen Zhao-Pei goes to Beijing to teach Taijiquan.
• 1929 – 1929 Hangzhou Lei Tai Tournament
• 1930 – Chen Fa-Ke replaces Chen Zhao-Pei in Beijing, and Chen Zhao-Pei returns to teach in Chen Village.
• 1937 – Japanese occupation
• 1938 – Japanese occupation
• 1972 – Chen Village is allowed to participate in a province-wide martial arts competition. Chen Zhao-Pei works so hard to train the team that he succumbs to illness and passes away.
• 1957 – Chen Fa-Ke passes away in Beijing.
